The GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Scottish Virgin Oak

The GlenAllachie Scottish Virgin Oak is a limited edition Scottish 15-year-old single malt whiskey from the Speyside area. She matured for 13 years and 6 months in ex-bourbon American Quercus Alba oak barrels. She matured for the remaining 18 months in specially selected Scottish Sessile oak barrels. This very rare single malt gets its sophisticated taste from barrels made from Scottish Sessile oak (Quercus Petrae) originating from the Atlantic coast.

It is incredibly difficult to work with Scottish oak at all stages of production, whether it is growing, grinding or formwork. Its rarity and cost to create means it is hardly used. Before processing, the wood was dried for 36 months, then roasted and charred to a medium level.

The legendary Billy Walker oversaw the entire production and maturation process. This is a limited edition, which means that only 2,250 bottles were produced. No added dyes and cold filtration. Whisky comes in a very nice gift box.
