It opens with notes of ripe dark fruit, such as cherries and plums, beautifully balanced with aromas of port wine, delicately intertwined with the scent of coffee, tobacco, oak wood and dark chocolate. Hints of sweet dried raisins and vanilla can be detected in the background.
The taste is rich and multi-layered. The introduction is sweet and delicate, dominated by port wine, which lends the rum a smooth fruitiness. Gradually, flavours of honey, vanilla, dark chocolate, cocoa and delicate spices develop, giving it depth and elegance. There are also tobacco notes and hints of caramelised nuts.
The finish is long, smooth and harmoniously lingering. It has a sweet aftertaste with a slightly spicy accent, in which the notes of port, spices, wood and velvety chocolate return. The overall impression is sophisticated and balanced, ideal for slow enjoyment.
