Octomore 15.2 108.2ppm
Add a tasting glass and elevate your experience to the next level!
Octomore 15.2 from the Bruichladdich distillery offers an interesting and enticing comparison to its counterpart 15.1.
It is distilled from the same batch of Scottish barley, which is also malted to 108.2 PPM, and uses a robust combination of wine and bourbon casks with second fill, while the distillate is finished in first fill cognac casks.
This unique triple combination adds various layers, resulting in a complex yet exceptionally elegant single malt Scotch whisky. Hints of nutmeg, toasted oak, and caramel provide smoothness to the flavor, while the delicate floral character of Octomore comes to the forefront.
Initial maturation in American oak before finishing in French oak cognac casks gives the whisky rich complexity.
The resulting distillate 15.2 exhibits a softness akin to quality oak, while being both strong and elegant, with the delicate floral character of the whisky standing out. The softness of the oak is unmistakable on the palate and beautifully complements the mineral quality of the distillate and the dry peat smoke.
Bottled at an alcohol content of 57.9%.
