Bruichladdich Octomore 16.1

Octomore 16.1 is a cornerstone of the legendary Octomore series from the Bruichladdich distillery, known for producing some of the peatiest whisky in the world. This edition was made from 100% Scottish barley Concerto malted to an incredible 101.4 PPM, maturing for 5 years in first-fill bourbon casks.

Despite its intense peatiness, Octomore 16.1 offers an exceptionally elegant and complex profile that perfectly balances robust smoke, fruity sweetness, and the mineral freshness typical of the Islay island.

The nose reveals maritime notes, fruit orchards, dried heather, chamomile, and delicate vanilla complemented by smoked paprika and iodine. The palate is intense yet surprisingly smooth – dominated by notes of salted caramel, honeydew melon, apricots, cinnamon, anise, chocolate, and coconut with a long-lasting peaty smoke. The finish is long, complex, and distinctly smoky with notes of black pepper, caramel, and sea salt.
