Octomore 16.3
Pronunciation: { Bru-kla-di }Octomore 16.3 is part of the iconic Octomore series, renowned as the world’s most heavily peated whisky. This edition stands out as a true “Islay Barley” release, made exclusively from barley grown on Octomore Farm on Islay, capturing the island’s pure terroir.
Distilled in 2017, the whisky matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon barrels and European oak casks, contributing depth, structure and rich fruity layers. Bottled at 61,6 % ABV, non chill-filtered and at natural colour, it offers an unfiltered, powerful Octomore experience.
The nose reveals intense peat smoke, sea spray, honeyed barley, citrus peel, white pepper, vanilla, almonds and ripe orchard fruit.
On the palate, it is powerful yet beautifully balanced – salty peat smoke, honeyed malt, lime, white grapes, nectarine, grilled fruit, white chocolate and a hint of toasted oak. The peat character is deep, earthy and mineral-driven, enhanced by the freshness of Islay barley.
The finish is extremely long, warm and complex, with notes of ash, citrus, sweet smoke, grapevine and delicate spice.
Octomore 16.3 captures the pure essence of Islay – extreme peat, coastal salinity and unmistakable terroir in every sip.
