Metaxa Private Reserve Orama is made from delicately sweet and aromatic muscat grapes from award-winning vineyards in the mountainous regions of the Greek island of Samos. This is accompanied by aging in oak barrels and the taste of Mediterranean herbs and botanicals, which are macerated for a period of 1 year.
For the first time in history, the production of Metaxa involved and subsequently featured the signatures of two METAXA Masters on the bottle label. One is Costas Raptis, who has been behind Metaxa Private Reserva since its inception in 1992. The other is Kostis Kalpaxidis, for whom this marks the beginning of a new era focused on sustainability.
The name "Orama" translates to vision, which is reflected in this METAXA. It is the first to be made from sustainably grown muscat vines. Sustainability is also evident in the new packaging and lighter decanter, which has reduced CO2 emissions by 10.4% compared to the previous packaging.
Metaxa Private Reserve Orama shines best at room temperature, revealing its full spectrum of flavors. It also tastes great on the rocks. Two hours before serving, we recommend avoiding coffee, chewing gum, and spicy foods. And of course, a good tip is to have a glass of pure water just before enjoying it.
