Meikle Tòir (pronounced "Mee-kuhl Tor") is a project of the brand The GlenAllachie Distillers Company led by master distiller Billy Walker, focusing on peated whisky from Speyside - a region not traditionally known for strong peat.
The Turbo 2025 Edition is a vision taken to the extreme: the distillate was selected from the "heart" of the distillation with the highest phenol content (~72 ppm).
Aging took place for 5 years in selected casks: a combination of five American virgin oak casks and four Oloroso sherry casks.
The aroma reveals notes of manuka honey, toasted caramel, and smoked cedar wood, complemented by buttery caramel, molasses cake, and spicy orange peel.
The taste is intense, with heather honey, roasted hazelnuts, ginger, mocha, and molasses, followed by oak wood, dark chocolate, and warmed plum jam. The finish is long and smoky, with a sweet peat profile and strong character.
This expression is aimed at the connoisseur seeking a bolder, more pronounced whisky - a blend of typical Speyside smoothness with intense peat.
