Meikle Tòir 5 Year Old The Original

Meikle Tòir 5 Year Old The Original is a classic single malt whisky that is a true champion of peaty endeavor. It is made from mainland peat from St. Fergus and its flavor profile is sweeter than one would expect from coastal peat.

The whisky is produced at the GlenAllachie distillery in Speyside, Scotland. The creation of this whisky is overseen by Master Distiller Billy Walker. By using premium mainland peat, an oaky, sweet-smoky style is achieved, and through a process of extended fermentation, meticulous distillation, and expert maturation, the spirit reaches its peak. After 5 years of patient aging, the spirit in each cask must meet the strict standards set by Billy Walker and his team to be bottled.

First-fill ex-bourbon casks, American virgin oak casks, and Rye casks were used. The bottles are filled at an alcohol content of 50% and come in gift boxes.

Scottish illustrator Iain McIntosh was commissioned to create a hand-drawn illustration that captures the beautiful yet rugged environment of northern Speyside. The central peak is inspired by Ben Rinnes - the highest mountain in the area.

The carefully selected earthy color palette reflects the smoky flavor profile of the whisky and was inspired by the nature surrounding the GlenAllachie distillery: moss, oak, heather, and sky.
