Meikle Tòir Single Cask 2018 Peated is a limited Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from the peated range Meikle Tòir, produced at The GlenAllachie Distillery under the guidance of Master Distiller Billy Walker. The name Meikle Tòir refers to the bold endeavor to create an exceptional peated single malt whisky right in Speyside.
This release is part of the Single Cask Collection and was bottled for The Master Blender’s European Selection. The whisky was distilled in 2018, matured in a single Bourbon Barrel, and bottled in July 2026. The bottling comes from cask number 3291 and produced only 254 bottles, with no added coloring and no chill filtration.
The character of the whisky combines the sweetness of the bourbon cask with elegant peaty smoke. The aroma features toasted hazelnuts, grilled honeycomb, baked orange, vanilla pods, white mocha, and campfire smoke. The palate continues with notes of salty honeycomb, black cherry jam, orange peel, smoked cocoa, vanilla cream, and grilled orchard fruits.
Meikle Tòir Single Cask 2018 Peated is an intense, naturally strong, and distinctly limited whisky for fans of the peated Speyside style. Thanks to the combination of sweet bourbon wood, fruitiness, and smoke, it feels rich, warming, and yet pure.
Meikle Tòir 5 Year Old The Original is a classic single malt whisky that is a true champion of peaty endeavor. It is made from mainland peat from St. Fergus and its flavor profile is sweeter than one would expect from coastal peat.
The whisky is produced at the GlenAllachie distillery in Speyside, Scotland. The creation of this whisky is overseen by Master Distiller Billy Walker. By using premium mainland peat, an oaky, sweet-smoky style is achieved, and through a process of extended fermentation, meticulous distillation, and expert maturation, the spirit reaches its peak. After 5 years of patient aging, the spirit in each cask must meet the strict standards set by Billy Walker and his team to be bottled.
First-fill ex-bourbon casks, American virgin oak casks, and Rye casks were used. The bottles are filled at an alcohol content of 50% and come in gift boxes.
Scottish illustrator Iain McIntosh was commissioned to create a hand-drawn illustration that captures the beautiful yet rugged environment of northern Speyside. The central peak is inspired by Ben Rinnes - the highest mountain in the area.
The carefully selected earthy color palette reflects the smoky flavor profile of the whisky and was inspired by the nature surrounding the GlenAllachie distillery: moss, oak, heather, and sky.
Meikle Tòir 5 Year Old The Sherry One is a classic single malt whisky that is a true champion of peaty endeavor. It is made from mainland peat from St. Fergus and the sweet phenol content in the whisky reaches 35 PPM. The result of a long 160-hour fermentation is a fruity distillate that is perfectly suited for aging in the finest Sherry oak wood.
The whisky is produced at the GlenAllachie distillery in Speyside, Scotland. The creation of this whisky is overseen by Master Distiller Billy Walker. By using premium mainland peat, a oaky, sweet-smoky style is achieved, and through extended fermentation, meticulous distillation, and expert aging, the distillate reaches its peak. After 5 years of patient resting, the distillate must meet strict standards set by Billy Walker and his team in each cask to make it into the bottle.
Used were ex-bourbon American oak casks and ex-sherry Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso. Bottles were filled at an alcohol content of 48% and come in gift boxes.
