Loch Lomond The Open Course Collection 2025 is a limited edition 22-year-old single malt whisky created to celebrate the 153rd edition of The Open tournament, which will take place at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
Distilled in 2002 exclusively in unique straight-neck pot stills at the Loch Lomond distillery, the whisky matured in American oak casks and then aged for six months in virgin Spanish oak casks. This resulted in an elegant whisky with complex notes of caramel, pineapple, warming spices, and subtle smoke.
This exclusive edition is limited to only 3500 bottles, making it a rare treasure for collectors and whisky lovers.
The whisky perfectly captures the mastery and creativity of the Loch Lomond distillery, making it a fitting tribute to the history of The Open tournament, its players, and iconic golf courses. The production process involved traditional methods as well as modern innovations, with the casks handcrafted by the distillery's own cooperage team.
Master Blender Michael Henry personally oversaw the maturation process, which began in American oak and was completed in select Spanish casks. This special Spanish finish added layers of flavor to the whisky, including caramel, cinnamon, and toasted oak.
Bottled at 46.7 %, non-chill filtered and with natural color, this whisky is a testament to artisanal quality and respect for nature.
