Glen Garioch 12 Year Old is a classic Highland single malt from Aberdeenshire, considered one of Scotland’s oldest continuously operating distilleries, founded in 1797.
Whisky is bottled at 48 % ABV, it is presented with natural colour and non-chill filtered, giving it a full-bodied and authentic character. Matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, it achieves a fine balance between sweetness, spice and fruity notes.
On the nose, it reveals honey, vanilla, creamy sweetness, gentle spice and oak, with hints of flowers and nuts.
The palate is rich and robust, with layers of caramel, sweet malted barley, roasted almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg and ripe fruit. The finish is long and gently warming, with touches of sherry sweetness, nuts and a subtle smoky veil.
Best enjoyed neat at room temperature, though a few drops of water will open up further layers of fruit and spice. Glen Garioch 12 Year Old represents the traditional Highland style - robust, full-bodied yet refined.
