Set Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva + Matusalem Gran Reserva 23 Enigma
Matusalem Gran Reserva 23 Enigma is a luxury rum that represents the perfection of craftsmanship. This premium rum comes from the Dominican Republic and is the result of more than a century of tradition from the Álvarez family. It ages in French oak barrels using the Solera method, which gives it a uniquely balanced and complex flavor.
The aging and blending process is based on the Solera method, which was originally developed for the production of sherry and brandy de Jerez and involves the use of several layers of barrels, with the youngest rum at the top and the oldest at the bottom.
After the product is released from the bottom of the system, spirits are gradually added to and from the higher layers. The use of this method in the production of Matusalem rum is unique in its own way and ensures perfect blending of rums of different ages. The result is an exceptionally smooth distillate.
The Matusalem company produced rum in Cuba until the 1960s, when it was confiscated by Castro's regime. At that time, Matusalem held a 50% share of the Cuban rum market. Production was subsequently revived decades later by the great-grandson of the founder, Claudio Álvarez Salazar in the Dominican Republic, which has a similar microclimate to Santiago de Cuba. Rum is produced here according to original Cuban recipes.
Today, the company is owned by the fifth generation of the Álvarez family and Matusalem Gran Reserva 23 pays tribute to the family tradition, with notes of roasted almonds, honey, nutmeg, banana, and pineapple on the nose. Its dry taste then offers a refined spicy combination of vanilla, caramel, molasses, and wood.

Amazing rum Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva comes from Guatemala and is a blend of rums aged from 6 to 23 years. The rum is produced using the Solera system - which means that different aged rums are blended together from barrels that previously aged sherry, port wine, or cognac.
The entire production process and barrel selection is overseen by Master Distiller - Lorena Vásquez, to capture specific flavors and textures as well as the perfect color. After distillation, it rests in American oak barrels at an altitude of 2438 meters above sea level, where the cool weather helps reduce evaporation during aging.
Unlike most rums that use molasses, Zacapa rum is made from the first pressing of virgin sugar cane. This results in a sweeter and smoother rum, and it is at this moment that the characteristic properties and flavor profile of the rum begin to develop.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 40% with a volume of 0.7 l.
