Whisky Balblair 12 Year Old comes from one of the oldest Scottish distilleries, founded in 1790 in the Highlands. This is the entry-level edition of the new core series from Balblair, focusing on the elegant, clean, and natural style typical of this distillery.
The whisky matures in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and twice-charred American oak casks, which add depth, subtle spiciness, and a rounded vanilla-woody character.
The result is a beautifully balanced single malt with typical Highland freshness, rich fruitiness, and a smooth, lightly spicy profile.
The aroma is dominated by notes of ripe apples, vanilla, honey, and citrus peel, complemented by a light hint of sweet spice.
On the palate, the whisky is smooth and harmonious – honey, pear, vanilla, tropical fruit, gentle oak sweetness, buttery caramel and a touch of fresh spice.
The finish is medium-long, clean, and elegant, with a combination of honey, vanilla, gentle spice, and sweet oak.
