Admiral Rodney HMS Formidable
Admiral Rodney HMS Formidable is a molasses rum from the island of St. Lucia. It is exclusively drawn from the lowest part of the distillation apparatus (Coffey still) as a heavier rum with richer flavors. It is then expertly aged by blending 9-12 year old rums and matures in ex-bourbon casks. The result is a delicious rum with notes of honey, vanilla, and toast, with aromas of oak and sweet spices.
The rum is named after Admiral Rodney's flagship in the naval battle in the Caribbean (a decisive battle where the French lines were defeated, securing British dominance over the Caribbean. The battle took place at sea between the islands of Guadeloupe and Dominica).
