Admiral’s Formidable

Admiral’s Formidable is a distinctive premium rum from Saint Lucia, which follows the prestigious style of Formidable rums from St. Lucia Distillers. It is made from molasses distillates sourced from a 45-plate Coffey column still used in the distillery since 1985. The distillates are obtained from the lower plates of the column, giving them a fuller, balanced, and more complex character suitable for long aging.

The rum ages for 10 to 15 years in American white oak barrels, which impart structure, depth, and a pronounced oak character. Compared to lighter rums, it feels stronger, more complex, and more mature, while still maintaining a harmonious and elegant expression.

On the nose, notes of raisins, honey, spices, and vanilla emerge. The palate is rich and layered, with tones of raisins, ginger, chocolate, tobacco, and spicy oak. It is the combination of sweeter notes, spices, and long aging that makes this rum one of the most distinctive expressions of the Admiral’s Rum brand.

Admiral’s Formidable is intended primarily for slow enjoyment neat at room temperature or in a tasting glass. It shines best as a rum for connoisseurs seeking an intense, harmonious, and complex rum from Saint Lucia.
