Wagemut The Origin

Wagemut The Origin is a limited Single Blended Rum from Barbados, created as a pure base of the well-known Wagemut PX-Cask – this time in a standalone, undiluted, and more natural form. It is a rum from the Foursquare distillery, made as a collaborative release Wagemut × Foursquare × RumX. The brand Wagemut is led by Nicolas Kröger, a prominent figure in the rum scene in the DACH region, with bottling taking place in the Wagemut design in Quickborne, Germany.

The rum was distilled and aged entirely in Barbados. It combines distillates from pot still and column still, with aging occurring in ex-bourbon barrels. The bottling is without added sugar, without filtration, and without coloring, resulting in a natural, concentrated, and distinctly cask-driven character.

Compared to Wagemut PX-Cask, this is not a sweeter, sherry-influenced rum spirit, but a pure rum emphasizing the authentic Foursquare character. The result is drier, oakier, and more intense, with natural strength and a pronounced expression of tropical aging. Wagemut The Origin is a one-time limited release of 3,000 bottles, created exclusively for RumX.
