The GlenAllachie 4 Year Old Billy Walker 50th Anniversary
An exclusive limited edition of the excellent 4-year-old Scottish Speyside whisky The GlenAllachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary, which was specially selected by Billy Walker. It is a young but wild whisky made from peat from St. Fergus.
In 2017, Billy introduced "drastic" changes to the distillery, prioritizing quality over quantity. In order to have more oversight of whisky production and maturation, he reduced production at the distillery by 80 %!
The whiskey matured in ex-bourbon, ex-rye and virgin oak barrels, which gave it a pleasant fruity taste with notes of tobacco cinnamon, barley and vanilla. It has a natural beautiful color and is made without cold filtration.
Finally, the whisky was bottled in August of this year with a 60.2 % alcohol content, which were closed with a cork. The bottles are in an exclusive black and gold gift box. Only 10,000 pieces were produced!
Color: amber with brown highlights
Aroma: pastry, dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, cinnamon
Taste: pears, cinnamon, honey, tobacco, barley, vanilla, fruit
Finish: long, pleasant, slightly spicy, oak, caramel
