Taylor's First Estate Reserve Port is an elegant port wine that pays tribute to a historic milestone in Taylor's winemaking – the acquisition of their first estate in the upper Douro valley in 1744.
This “vintage port wine” is a blend made from selected red wines that aged for 3 to 4 years in a combination of large oak casks and barrels, achieving a harmonious balance between fruity freshness and gentle maturation.
The wine features a deep ruby color and an intense aroma of concentrated fruit, dominated by black currants, plums, and sweet licorice. On the palate, it is full and smooth, with rich notes of ripe black figs and dark plums, complemented by fine tannins that provide structure and elegance.
Taylor's First Estate Reserve Port is the perfect companion to rich cheeses like Stilton or Roquefort, but it also pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts or fruit tarts. It is served at a temperature of 16 – 18 °C and does not require decanting.
