Port Askaig 25 Year Old

This 25-year-old single malt whisky comes from the Isle of Islay, but the exact distillery remains undisclosed – as is typical for Port Askaig. A special batch of casks was selected for bottling, distinguished by exceptional flavor and full texture.

Aging has brought rich floral notes complemented by leather and spice, beautifully merging with the peaty character. It is bottled at 45.8% ABV, without chill filtration and without added coloring.

On the nose, the whisky opens with notes of charcoal smoke and gradually reveals tropical fruits like pineapple, lychee, and guava. With the addition of water, garden flowers, peaches, cherries, and a subtle hint of burnt matches emerge.

On the palate, it is bolder and meatier – reminiscent of dried salami, salty rye crackers, and grilled vegetables with olive oil. Notes of soft leather, oatmeal with nutmeg, walnuts, and grapefruit appear with a touch of white pepper.

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature, to highlight its rich layers of smoke, fruit, and spice. A few drops of water help to develop the finer floral and fruity notes. This is a whisky for special occasions – full, elegant, and with a character that every Islay whisky connoisseur will appreciate.
