Port Askaig 25 Year Old

This 25-year-old single malt whisky comes from the island of Islay, but the exact distillery remains undisclosed – as is typical for Port Askaig. A special batch of casks was selected for bottling, distinguished by their exceptional flavor and full texture.

Maturation has brought rich floral notes complemented by leather and spice, which blend beautifully with the peaty character. It is bottled at 45,8 % ABV, without chill filtration and without the addition of colorants.

The aroma opens with notes of carbon smoke and gradually reveals tropical fruits such as pineapple, lychee, and guava. After adding water, garden flowers, peaches, cherries, and a subtle hint of burnt matches are added.

On the palate, it is more pronounced and meaty, reminiscent of dried salami, salty rye crackers, and grilled vegetables with olive oil. There are also notes of soft leather, oatmeal with nutmeg, walnuts, and grapefruit with a hint of white pepper.

It is best enjoyed neat at room temperature to bring out its rich layers of smoke, fruit, and spice. A few drops of water will help develop more delicate floral and fruity notes. This is a whisky for special occasions – full-bodied, elegant, and with a character that will be appreciated by any connoisseur of Islay whisky.

The bottles have a volume of 0,7 l and come in beautiful gift boxes.
