Papa's Pilar Rye Whiskey Barrel Finished Rum is a branded dark rum inspired by the legendary Ernest Hemingway, whose passions besides writing were adventure, the sea and quality alcohol. This rum is inspired by his adventurous lifestyle and expeditions to sea, his ship was named Pilar and Hemingway himself was nicknamed Papa.

Papa's Pilar Rye is made from different rums that are blended and aged together. It contains 9 different rums from regions such as Barbados, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Panama and Florida, giving it a complex flavour. This rum is aged in a variety of cask types including ex-bourbon American oak, ex-port wine, ex-sherry Spanish Oloroso and finally finished in white oak casks, heavily charred after once using Rye whiskey.

The rum has a wonderful aroma full of fresh vanilla, stewed plums in nutmeg and subtle spices. Flavour-wise, it has a distinctive oaky character with a hint of botanical herbaceousness. The rum is recommended to be consumed on its own or can be used as a base for various cocktails.

The bottles were filled at 43 % alcohol and the volume is 0,7 l.
