Papa's Pilar Rye Whiskey Barrel Finished Rum is a premium dark rum inspired by the legendary Ernest Hemingway, whose passions included adventure, the sea, and quality spirits. This rum is inspired by his adventurous lifestyle and sea expeditions, with his boat named Pilar and Hemingway himself nicknamed Papa.

Papa's Pilar Rye is made from various types of rum that are blended and aged together. It contains 9 different rums from regions such as Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Panama and Florida, giving it a complex flavor. This rum ages in various types of barrels including ex-bourbon American oak, ex-port wine, ex-sherry Spanish Oloroso, and is finally finished in white oak barrels that are heavily charred from first-use Rye whiskey.

The rum has a beautiful aroma full of fresh vanilla, stewed plums with nutmeg, and subtle spices. On the palate, it has a pronounced oak character with a hint of botanical herbaceousness. We recommend enjoying the rum neat or using it as a base for various cocktails.
