Jamaican 10-Year-Old Rum Mezan Jamaica 2011 ages 3 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica and then 7 years matures in Europe. Mezan Jamaica matures in ex-bourbon casks. The rum is made from molasses and is double distilled in copper pot stills by Forsyth’s. The distillery is located in Valle Lluidas where 90,000 tons of sugarcane are produced annually.
Mezan adheres to its philosophical concept of “The Untouched Rum” – no added sugars, artificial colors, or cold filtration. The rum aged 3 years directly in the tropical climate of Jamaica and then 7 years continentally in Europe in bourbon casks (first-fill and refill), gaining depth and a subtle color.
The aroma is rich with typical Jamaican notes - ester-rich aromas of green banana, lychee, fresh grass, and spices, underpinned by gentle oak. The taste is richly tropical, with a warming ester base, combining banana, exotic spices, and delicate fruity undertones.
Best enjoyed neat, without dilution, to fully appreciate its complex Jamaican character and esters.
