MacNair's Exploration Jamaica Peated is an exceptionally outstanding Jamaican blended rum, crafted under the supervision of Master Distiller/Blender Billy Walker from the distillery The GlenAllachie.
The rum was distilled at Clarendon Distillery, then transported to Scotland, where it matured in cooler climatic conditions. After 30 months of aging in ex-bourbon, ex-Rioja wine, and virgin oak casks, the individually aged rums with high, medium, and low ester levels were blended.
The rum was then precisely blended, reduced to 46 % alcohol content, and filled into ex-whisky The GlenAllachie casks, where it underwent a second maturation phase. The casks imparted a mild spiciness to the rum with notes of smoke, butter, ginger, and vanilla.
We recommend serving it neat and at room temperature. It is created without added colors and cold filtration. The rum comes in a beautiful dark green gift box.
