Cubaney Exquisito 21 is the flagship Dominican rum from the family brand Oliver & Oliver, which ages for approximately 21 years in the Solera system. This process combines barrels from American bourbon and French wines, resulting in a dark, mahogany distillate with a complex character that surpasses typical mid-range rums.
The production process begins with fermentation from molasses, followed by aging the rum in oak barrels of various origins under tropical conditions. In the Solera system, older and younger rums are gradually blended, and although the oldest component reaches 21 years, the resulting blend has an average age of about this time.
The aroma is dominated by sweet caramel and brown sugar, complemented by notes of dark chocolate, orange, crushed almonds, and a subtle smoky veil. The overall impression is rich and elegantly spiced.
On the palate, the rum is strong and initially intense, but later smooth and balanced. Flavors of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and hints of tobacco or old leather emerge on the tongue – the character is enhanced by the components of the barrels and the long aging process. The finish is long-lasting, with pronounced notes of cigar boxes and leather.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 38% and a volume of 0.7 l.
