El Dorado 5 Year Old Rum comes from Guyana and is produced by the renowned Demerara Distillers Ltd., the only continuously operating distillery in the Demerara region. It is a blend of rums from the wooden Coffey still at Enmore, Savalle column, and other traditional facilities that reflect the classic style of Demerara rum.
The distillate ages for a minimum of 5 years in American oak bourbon barrels, enhanced by the tropical climate at the equator, which accelerates maturation and intensifies aromas. This birth in heat and humidity creates a rich, caramel, and tropical spice experience.
The aroma intertwines notes of dried tropical fruits, caramel, butter, molasses, as well as roasted coconut and vanilla. The taste is full, with an onset of caramel notes, roasted coconut, fruit, spice, with subtle chocolate and smoky undertones. The finish is long-lasting, warming, with a pleasant impression of vanilla, bitter caramel sweetness, and spice.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 40%.
