Rum El Dorado 5 Year Old comes from Guyana and is produced by the renowned Demerara Distillers Ltd., the only distillery still operating in the Demerara region. It is a blend of rums from wooden Coffey stills from Enmore, Savalle columns and other traditional equipment, reflecting the classic style of Demerara rum.
The distillate is aged for at least 5 years in American oak bourbon barrels, enhanced by the tropical climate at the equator, which accelerates maturation and intensifies the aromas. This birth in heat and humidity makes the rum a rich, caramel and tropical spicy experience.
The aroma is a blend of dried tropical fruit, caramel, butter, molasses, roasted coconut, and vanilla. The flavor is full, with initial notes of caramel, roasted coconut, fruit, and spice, followed by subtle chocolate and smoky undertones. The finish is long-lasting and warming, with a pleasant impression of vanilla, bitter caramel sweetness and spice.
The bottles are filled with 40 % alcohol content.
