Macallan Classic Cut 2024 Edition is the eighth release of this limited anniversary edition. The master distiller selects specific casks each year and chooses the exact alcohol strength to showcase the unique profile of this whisky.
The whisky matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon casks and European ex-sherry Oloroso casks, each contributing its unique flavor profile. It was bottled at an alcohol strength of 52.4%, without coloring, but the manufacturer does not provide information on whether it was chill-filtered or not.
The nose features a pronounced vanilla aroma, followed by notes of orchard fruits (green apple, pear), marzipan, citrus peel, fresh herbs, and sweet oak. The palate is intense yet harmonious, with flavors of vanilla pudding, oak, milk chocolate, green apple, cinnamon, and black pepper. After a few moments, subtle notes of exotic fruits and citrus emerge. The finish is long and bittersweet.
