The 23-year-old Dominican rum Kirk and Sweeney has a particularly charming deep amber-copper color. The name Kirk and Sweeney rum was inspired by a wooden schooner (a type of speedboat), which in times of prohibition was a unit in smuggling rum from the Caribbean to the United States and later used to train the Coast Guard.
