Kirk and Sweeney Gran Reserva Superior
Kirk and Sweeney Gran Reserva Superior Dominican Rum has a particularly charming deep amber-copper color. The seductive aroma of this rum stands out with tones of dried fruit, sunburned wood, honey and caramel, perfectly blending with the taste of sherry, vanilla and fruit.
The name Kirk and Sweeney rum was inspired by a wooden schooner (a type of speedboat) that was a unit in smuggling rum from the Caribbean to the United States during Prohibition and later used to train the Coast Guard. Today, enjoy this exceptional rum, which has matured for up to 23 years in American oak barrels using the Solera system, you can indulge in absolute comfort and fully enjoy all its taste tones.
The aroma of this rum is exceptionally complex, dominated by dried fruit, sweet baked goods, honey, caramelised sugar, and subtle almond and vanilla notes, which together create a very harmonious aromatic profile. The taste is smooth, elegantly sweet and balanced, with clearly recognisable notes of vanilla, wood, nuts, chocolate and dried fruit, mixed with nuances of sherry, caramel and almonds.
The finish is long, warm and sophisticated, with lingering notes of caramel, sherry, vanilla and a subtle hint of almonds. This is a rum that is best enjoyed slowly, neat, but can also be enjoyed with a cube of ice. It pairs well with high-quality dark chocolate, which brings out its caramel and fruity nuances and enhances the depth of the overall experience.
The bottle is hand-packed in an onion shape, inspired by historical bottles from the 18th century. The design features an image of the Kirk & Sweeney schooner, an ancient map of its route, a museum photograph of the ship and authentic nautical elements.
