Kirk and Sweeney Reserva
Kirk and Sweeney Reserva is a Dominican rum named after a wooden schooner (a type of speedboat) that was a unit in smuggling rum from the Caribbean to the United States during Prohibition and later used to train the Coast Guard.
Kirk and Sweeney Reserva rum is made from the best, hand-crafted fresh sugar cane in small batches. It matures in oak barrels after French wine for up to 12 years using the Solera system. You will quickly fall in love with it for its deep mahogany color, exceptional softness with a balanced, full and sometimes nectar taste.
The aroma of rum offers a sweet balance between notes of honey and sugar cane, complemented by vanilla, toasted oak, caramel and dried fruit. On the palate, there is a nectar-like sweetness that develops into a full yet delicate body with subtle vanilla and woody reflections.
The finish is smooth and long, with notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, mild spices (such as cinnamon and nutmeg) and an elegant, luxurious aftertaste.
This rum is ideal for slow sipping – neat, with a cube of ice or a drop of water to open up its aroma and flavour. It pairs well with dark chocolate or mature cheeses, which further emphasise its fruity and woody notes.
