The first ever Irish whiskey made in a period pot still and matured in Bordeaux casks! This is Green Spot Château Léoville Barton.

The choice of Bordeaux wine is also important - Ch. Léoville Barton is not only a highly acclaimed grand cru Château, its name comes from Thomas Barton, a winemaker from the Irish wine company "Wine Geese". Léoville Barton is still run today by his descendants. This drink is a celebration of a shared Irish heritage.

Green Spot whiskey is first aged in a combination of ex-Sherry Oloroso casks, fresh American oak barrels and ex-bourbon casks. Finally, it is finished and aged in Château Léoville Barton Bordeaux wine casks for 12 to 24 months.

The initial aroma is the result of French oak, which adds crisp woodsy notes to the Single Pot Still's spicy character. The wine's spice brings a subtle touch of floral aromas and a hint of ripe berries such as raspberries and strawberries that complement the orchard fruit typical of Green Spot.

The familiar mouthfeel is a very satisfying balance of oak and spice. A certain vanilla sweetness works in harmony with the dry wine influence, while fresh orchard fruit and French oak combine seamlessly with barley grains to round out the complexity.
