Glen Scotia 7 Year Old Festival Release 2026
Glen Scotia 7 Year Old Festival Release 2026 is a special edition created for the Campbeltown Malts Festival. This release celebrates the unique character of the Campbeltown region – one of the most historically significant whisky-producing areas in Scotland. Founded in 1832, the Glen Scotia distillery is one of the last remaining traditional producers in the region and is renowned for its distinctive maritime character.
The whisky was initially matured in first-fill bourbon casks, which imparted gentle vanilla sweetness and a creamy texture. It then underwent approximately six months of finishing in Ruby Port casks, adding a pronounced layer of fruitiness and spicy depth. The result is a complex profile with notes of:
• peat smoke (medium peated)
• blackcurrant and dark cherry
• mandarin and red fruits
• creamy fudge and vanilla
• subtle salinity and a long smoky finish
The Port cask finish beautifully complements Glen Scotia’s signature coastal salinity, creating a harmonious balance of sweetness, fruit and smoke.
This 7-year-old single malt is bottled at batch strength, preserving its full character and intensity of flavour. It is also non-chill filtered and presented in its natural colour. This ensures an authentic expression of both the distillery and the region. If you enjoy bold and characterful whiskies, explore other Scottish single malts in our selection.
Festival Release 2026 embodies the philosophy of “Big Campbeltown Character” – a combination of smoke, maritime salinity, sweet notes and robust structure. On the palate it is full yet refined, with a long, warming finish where fruit and smoke intertwine. This limited edition will appeal to collectors as well as fans of medium-peated whiskies. It is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to further open up its aromatic profile.
