Foursquare Fidelitas
Rum Foursquare Fidelitas is an exceptionally rare 20-year-old blend from the Foursquare distillery in Barbados, packaged in a black bottle and limited to 2,160 bottles.
With an ABV of 55 % and no added sugar or coloring, it is the oldest official Foursquare rum, aged exclusively in its region of origin - the first 19 years in ex-bourbon barrels and the last year in ex-Marsala barrels.
The production process combines pot still and column still distillates, distilled by the family business run by Richard Seale. The first decade in ex-bourbon barrels provides a complex base, followed by a season in ex-Marsala barrels, which brings a delicate wine elegance and softness that softens the vanilla and oak tones.
The nose reveals aromas of spicy fruit pastries, cinnamon, cloves, delicate cola and herbs, which represent the unexpected subtlety of Foursquare and take it to a new level. The rum is well-balanced on the palate, with sweet notes of cola and candied citrus fruit complemented by oak structure and a medium-long finish with hints of herbs and vanilla.
