However, most Caribbean rums are made from cane juice and the taste of molasses is given an artificial sweetener. If rum is still made from molasses, it is usually imported from Brazil. Controversial views on the classification of cachac among rums therefore seem inadequate. The fantastic Cachaca 51, for example, fits perfectly into a caipirinha cocktail.
