Cachaça Pitú is produced in the town of Vitória de Santo Antão, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco, the regional cradle of sugar cane and cachaça.
The brand was created in 1938 by the founding families of Ferrer de Morais and Cândido Carneiro, who named it after the local stream ‘Pitú’, known for its abundance of freshwater shrimp. To this day, it is run by the fourth and fifth generations of the family, underscoring the continuity of traditional family values.
Pitú is distilled exclusively from fresh sugar cane juice grown in the local ‘massapê’ soil type. Each bottle undergoes a single distillation, which is key to preserving its aroma.
After distillation, Pitú is aged in wooden tanks for several weeks, which gives it its smoothness and allows the flavours to balance. This process preserves its fresh and authentic character.
Pitú Cachaça offers a fresh aroma of sugar cane, complemented by subtle notes of green grass and a subtle hint of citrus peel.
It is light and fresh on the palate, with distinctive notes of sugar cane, citrus and a subtle herbal character reminiscent of tarragon and thyme. The finish is short to medium long, with delicately sweet and spicy notes.
The bottles are filled with 38 % alcohol and have a volume of 0,7 l.
