Description
Clairin Vaval (2022 bottling) is a Haitian overproof rum made from the juice of organically grown sugar cane. Distilled by hand in the village of Cavaillon at the Arawaks Distillery.
It is a rum called mono-varietal, which is made from Madame Meuze sugar cane. Fermentation is spontaneous with natural yeasts. Fermented cane juice has been distilled since 1947 by the Fritz Vaval family business in a unique home distillery using the Column Still method.
The result is a strong and flavorful young French-style rhum with a high alcohol content of 53.3% without any additives.
The rum comes in a paper gift box with an illustration of the people of Haiti.
