Clairin Communal is a unique and authentic white rum from Haiti made from organic sugarcane grown without pesticides, fermented with natural yeasts, and distilled using traditional methods.
And when we say authentic, we really mean it. The entire production process takes place in Haiti. The soil is hand-tilled, the sugarcane is hand-chopped, then pressed on artisanal presses, often powered by livestock. Fresh cane juice ferments wild in barrels buried in the ground in a tropical climate. Then comes distillation, which uses the remnants of the sugarcane. Such fresh distillates from local distilleries of the Clairin Traditionnel association are transported to Port-au-Prince, where they are bottled without the addition of water or any further processing. And so they journey to you. Unrefined and authentic.
It is made from various distillates sourced from the regions of Cavaillon, Barraderes, Pignon, and St. Michel de l'Attalaye. This reflects the unique characteristics of the different terroirs of Haiti, where various sugarcane is grown, with different processing methods, which is also reflected in the diverse flavor.
