Brugal Visionary Collection Edition 03: Coconut closes the three-part limited series Visionary Collection. Following editions inspired by Dominican cocoa and coffee, the final edition focuses on coconut, an ingredient closely tied to the culture and gastronomy of the Dominican Republic. It was created by Jassil Villanueva Quintana, a fifth-generation Master Rum Maker of the Brugal family.

The foundation of the edition is a unique technique called Aromatic Cask Toasting. Barrels made from French oak are toasted with Dominican coconut, giving the wood a subtle tropical and toasted aromatic character. The rum then acquires an additional layer of aromas and flavors in these prepared barrels. Thus, coconut does not serve as a common aroma added to the finished rum – its character is transferred into the final product through the barrel.

The result is a complex yet still elegant rum with notes of creamy vanilla, caramel, sweet lemon, orange peel, and coconut water, complemented by a subtly smoky and spicy character of the wood. It is bottled at 45% alcohol by volume.

Edition 03 was created in only six batches, and globally there are less than 35,000 bottles available. Each bottle is hand-sealed, bears the batch number, and is signed by Jassil Villanueva Quintana.
