Bowmore 14 Year Old Bordeaux Cask Finish is part of the Appellations Collection. The distillate first matures for approximately 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a final maturation of 2 years in selected Bordeaux wine barriques.
This approach brings a unique balance between the characteristic peaty complexity of Bowmore and the refined fruitiness of wine.
The aroma reveals notes of ripe cherries, subtle hints of Black Forest gateau, pine nuts and sea salt. The palate reveals salty and spicy notes that open up into a rich fruit palette of raspberries, cherries and strawberries, transitioning into bitter dark chocolate. The whisky has an exceptional layered character, with fruit, smoke, salt and spice complementing each other.
Best enjoyed neat at room temperature, which allows its complexity to awaken. It is ideal as a sophisticated digestif and goes well with dark chocolate, fruit desserts or richer cheeses. Thanks to its harmonious smoke, fruit and salt, it can also be a beautiful gesture, for example as a gift.
The bottles are filled with 43 % alcohol, have a volume of 0,7 l and come in a gift box.
