Benromach

The story of Benromach began in 1898 in the Scottish town of Forres, where a distillery was built that became part of the famous Speyside region. After decades of silence, it was purchased in 1993 by the family company Gordon & MacPhail, which decided to revive an almost forgotten style. A rich, handcrafted whisky with a gentle touch of peat smoke, typical for the Speyside region before the era of modern, light and unpeated whiskies.

In 1998 the distillery was officially reopened by Prince Charles (now King Charles III), marking a symbolic new beginning for traditional Scotch whisky. At Benromach, everything is done by hand and with honest methods. From selecting local barley dried with a hint of peat to maturation in oak casks, which give the whisky depth, smoothness and complexity.

The distillery uses pure spring water from Chapelton Spring and traditional yeast, resulting in a whisky that pays tribute to Speyside’s past. Rich, fruity and with a delicate smoky note.

The Benromach Classic range preserves the authentic character of Speyside, while the innovative Benromach Contrasts collection experiments with new methods of drying barley, fermentation and cask types to bring new taste experiences.

Today Benromach is among the most authentic producers in Speyside. A brand that has proven that even in the modern world there is a place for slow, honest craftsmanship and whisky made with soul.
