The story of the brand Benromach began in 1898 in the town of Forres, in the heart of the Scottish region Speyside. After decades of silence, the distillery was revived in 1993 by the family company Gordon & MacPhail, which decided to continue the traditional style – handcrafted whisky with a subtle touch of peat smoke, typical of Speyside from the days before the era of modern, light whiskies.

Honest Production with Respect for Tradition

In 1998, the distillery was officially reopened by Prince Charles (now King Charles III.), marking the beginning of a new chapter in traditional Scottish whisky. At Benromach, everything is done by hand – from selecting local barley, dried with a hint of peat, to distillation in copper pot stills, and aging in oak casks that give the whisky depth and complexity. The result is an authentic single malt whisky with a soul of the past.

Benromach uses pure spring water from Chapelton Spring and traditional yeasts that give the whisky its unmistakable profile – rich, fruity, and with a subtle smoky note. The classic line Benromach Classic maintains the traditional Speyside style, while the modern collection Benromach Contrasts brings experiments with different casks and fermentation processes.
