Vieux Sajous 5 Year Old 2019 is a limited edition rum from the Chelo distillery in Haiti, led by Michel Sajous. This rum was distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2024, maturing 5 years in tropical conditions. Its alcohol content is 58.3%.
It is made from 100% juice of Cristalline variety sugarcane, grown on a 30-hectare plantation in the Saint Michel de l'Attalaye area.
The fermentation was natural, using native yeasts, lasting 5 to 8 days. It is distilled using the traditional method with fire and distillation equipment.
Maturation takes place in barrels that previously contained rums from Hampden, Mount Gay, Bielle, Caroni, whisky from the Benriach distillery, and bourbon. The aging occurred in the Distillerie de Port-au-Prince warehouses in Haiti.
Bottles are delivered in clean and stylish gift cartons.
