El Dorado 12 Year Old

El Dorado 12 Year Old is a well-known brand of rum that originates from Guyana on the small Caribbean island of Demerara. This rum is one of the most popular and appreciated rums due to its rich and complex flavour profile.

Sugar cane is harvested and pressed to extract the sweet juice, which is used for fermentation. The sweet cane juice is then fermented using yeast. The fermented mixture is distilled 2 times in a traditional still. This produces an alcohol with a higher alcohol content and richer flavour. The bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 40 %.

The distillate is stored in ex-bourbon oak casks where it is aged for a minimum of 12 years. During maturation, the rum absorbs the character of the wood and acquires a complex flavour profile.

We recommend serving at room temperature or with an ice cube.
