The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 5
The GlenAllachie Cask Strength 10-Year-Old Scotch whisky was originally created by chance when master distiller Billy Walker inspected casks from the 2007 and 2008 vintages in 2017. The balance and depth of the whisky samples from these casks inspired him so much that he immediately decided to add a "younger sibling" to the core range of The GlenAllachie whisky in the form of this 10-year-old whisky. Since then, several great releases have emerged. For example, Release No. 3 won the award for Best Scottish Speyside Single Malt Whisky at the World Whiskies
Awards 2020. And the following year, Release No. 4 even won the award for Best Single Malt Whisky in the World at the same competition. The bar for this (now 5th release) has been set really high. So what can you expect?
The whisky The GlenAllachie Cask Strength (Release No. 5) matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, along with a small amount maturing in virgin oak casks and Rioja casks. The result is a perfect balance of juicy oranges, bitter chocolate, and sweet spices underscored by classic honey notes typical of the GlenAllachie brand.
