Paololeo Passo del Cardinale Primitivo di Manduria DOP 3l is a distinctive dry red wine from southern Italy, produced by Cantine Paololeo. It is made from the Primitivo grape variety, grown in the Manduria area of Apulia, one of the most renowned regions for this variety.
The wine is created from grapes cultivated in the traditional alberello pugliese method, which is a typical Apulian vine training system. After fermentation, it ages for 3 months in barriques and then 6 months in steel tanks, allowing it to retain its rich fruitiness while also gaining a delicate structure and pleasant spiciness.
On the nose and palate, there are notes of dark berry fruits, blackcurrants, sweet licorice, spices, and coffee. The taste is full, harmonious, and balanced, with velvety tannins and a longer spicy finish.
The large-format 3 l version is the perfect choice for celebrations, family gatherings, corporate gifts, or festive dining. It pairs wonderfully with grilled and roasted meats, beef steaks, ragù, game dishes, aged cheese, and more robust Italian cuisine.
