Masso Antico Primitivo Appassito
Italian Primitivo Masso Antico Appassito is a red semi-sweet wine. The grapes used for this Primitivo are grown using the Alberello method, which has ancient origins and is typical for the Mediterranean region of Italy. This method was developed to compensate for water scarcity and very hot climates. Today, this very rare method represents an important part of the cultural and ethnological heritage of Apulia. The grapes are allowed to ripen on the vines and then are selectively harvested and dried on special nets to achieve a concentrated juice extract.
The result of grapes dried by the seaside and slowly maturing in French oak barrels for up to 6 months is an excellent full-bodied wine with fine tannins. In the finish, delicate vanilla notes are released.
We recommend serving at a temperature of 16°-18° C. The wine pairs well with grilled meats or aged cheeses.
