Nixta Corn Liqueur
Nixta Licor De Elote is a Mexican corn liqueur made from fine cacahuazintle corn grown in high valleys and at the foot of the Nevado de Toluca volcano.
Nixta is produced at Destilería y Bodega Abasolo, where they honor the Mexican culture of corn and the ancestral craft of nixtamalization - a 4,000-year-old Mesoamerican cooking technique that reveals the deepest flavors and aromas of corn.
To make Nixta liqueur, the best fine corn of the season is macerated in excellent corn distillate and sweetened with purified sweet wort - both made from the original cacahuazintle corn grown near the distillery at an altitude of over 7,000 meters above sea level.
Pure cacahuazintle corn is used in two different stages of development: Sweet cacahuazintle corn is macerated and prepared to extract all the delicate flavor. Ripe cacahuazintle kernels are nixtamalized to obtain sweet wort and alcohol. These components together create a fragrant and versatile liqueur that is true to its origin.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 30% with a volume of 0.7 l.
