Nikka Coffey Vodka
Nikka Coffey Vodka was introduced in 2017 by the Japanese distillery Nikka, which is renowned for its whiskies. It is based on two Coffey high-performance continuous distillation apparatus (known as Coffey stills) originally from Scotland, imported in 1963 and used at the Miyagikyo distillery. A blend of corn and malted barley is distilled separately, mixed, and then filtered through birch white charcoal for a smooth purity.
Nikka leverages its long-standing experience in gin and vodka production since the 1960s, with Coffey stills providing the fullness and texture typical of their grain and malt whiskies. The result is a vodka with a pleasant structure, distinct body, and grain character, setting it apart from the usual neutral clean vodkas.
Nikka Coffey Vodka has received prestigious awards: “Country Winner Japan” at the World Vodka Awards 2022 and a Trophy for Best Japanese Varietal at the same event.
