La Maison du Rhum Colombia 2010/2022 Batch No.5
La Maison du Rhum Colombia 2010/2022 Batch No.5 is a Colombian molasses rum produced at the family distillery Hacienda Coloma.
This rum was distilled in 2010. The rum then aged 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels in a tropical climate and further matured in coffee liqueur barrels. Hacienda Coloma is located in the central mountainous region of Colombia and has been owned by the Constain family for 2 generations. The founder Alberto Constain Medina created the most famous coffee liqueur in Colombia.
In 2022, a total of 4975 bottles were released for the La Maison du Rhum collection.
The aroma resonates with a gourmet register of roasting with caramel, toasted wood, and coffee, all flavored with a touch of molasses. On the palate, the roasted character emerges. Caramel-coated pecans bring a beautiful intensity of flavor to the mid-palate, then the typically vanilla and nougat accents along with oak dissolve on the tongue.
La Maison du Rhum is a brand that was created in 2017 by Dugas, a French distributor that distributes more than half of the rum brands from Martinique in France and very popular rums like Don Papa and Diplomatico.
The brand operates on the principle of an "independent bottler." Their activity focuses on sourcing the best rums from distilleries around the world and subsequently bottling them under their brand. In a relatively short time of operation, they have managed to release several bottlings that have become legendary in the rum enthusiast community.
Regarding presentation, the bottle comes with a gift tube and colorful label, all in a retro colonial style. The distillation date and bottling date, type of barrels used, distillery name, type of distillation equipment: all of this is carefully listed on the label of each bottle, demonstrating that the brand's designers have perfectly understood the demands of today's spirit lovers.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 46% with a volume of 0.7 l.
