La Hechicera Experimental Series No.1 Muscat Cask

Experimental Series Rum La Hechicera No.1 Muscat Cask-Finished has a colorful aging history in oak barrels that were filled to the brim with the finest Muscat wine. It was a forgotten experiment that was accidentally discovered.

One of the brand's owners, Miguel Riascos Sr., once filled 16 large rum barrels with his favorite Muscat wine to see what it would do. After 12 years, his son Miguel Riascos Jr. discovered during an inventory a remarkable wine with outstanding notes of walnuts, plums, and leather, aging under the relentlessly warm climate of Colombian Barranquilla. He emptied the barrels of wine. As is customary with special editions, he reused them to fill them with La Hechicera rum aged 12 - 21 years.

The result is an experimental limited edition of La Hechicera Muscat rum enhanced by a final several-month aging in previously used barrels - first for rum and then for Muscat wine.
