Hampden Estate Pagos Batch 3
The name Hampden Estate Pagos, which comes from the Spanish word used to refer to vineyard lands in the Jerez area, is a nod from the distillery that it matures exclusively in ex-sherry casks.
Just like the most aromatic whiskies in the world, such as those produced on the Isle of Islay, Jamaican rum perfectly embraces the tones of Andalusian wine without overshadowing them, leading to a completely new aroma profile.
It is the perfect bottle that appeals to both rum enthusiasts and fans of single malts from sherry casks.
This particular batch is part of a limited edition, celebrating the unique blend of traditional Jamaican techniques and innovative approaches in the aging process.
The rum was distilled in 2010 and subsequently aged 11 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica, contributing to its complex profile. After this period, it was transported to Spain, where it matured for an additional 2.5 years in Palo Cortado sherry casks. This aging combination gives the rum a unique depth and complexity, merging traditional Jamaican esters with rich sherry tones.
The result is a high-ester rum that offers a rich palette of flavors and aromas. Its limited availability and unique aging process make this rum a true gem for connoisseurs and collectors.
