Hampden Estate, based in Trelawny Parish in northwestern Jamaica, is one of the oldest sugar estates in Jamaica. It is also the only distillery in Jamaica that specializes exclusively in the production of heavy rums. The sugar plantation has been operating since 1753 and has maintained the same production methods and techniques for two centuries. They use their own spring water, prolong the fermentation time with the help of wild yeasts. It also has its exceptional tropical climate, which allows the unique aging of these rums to which no dyes or sugar are added.

In 2018, Hampden Estate released its rum under its own name. Rum master Vivian Wisdom has created the first edition of a distillery from Hampden Estate in 265 years, which celebrates the uniqueness of Jamaican rum production and Hampden itself.
