Hampden 9 Year Old Magnum Series #3

Hampden 9 Year Old Magnum Series #3 is an exceptional Jamaican rum from the Hampden Estate distillery, released as part of the artistic Magnum Series – Edition No. 3, created in collaboration with Italian company Velier and photographer Cristina de Middel. This expressive rum carries the LROK mark, was distilled in 2016, and aged for nine years in Jamaica’s tropical climate. It was bottled at 60 % ABV.

Produced from molasses in traditional copper pot stills, it undergoes natural fermentation without the use of industrial yeast – relying instead on wild microorganisms and dunder (residues from previous fermentations). The nine-year tropical aging process allowed the rum to develop remarkable depth, balance, and complexity.

On the nose, it opens with notes of ripe and dried fruits – such as orange peel and mango – followed by hints of spice and oak. The palate is balanced and smooth, featuring layers of fruit, honey, and gentle spice, while the finish reveals warmth, oak tones, and the signature ester character typical of Hampden.

This dark rum represents a powerful and complex expression of Jamaican craftsmanship – perfect for connoisseurs who appreciate intensity, depth, and authenticity. Best enjoyed neat, in a tasting glass at room temperature.
